A Message From the President...

The North Florida Hotel & Lodging Association is an issue driven, growing association, that represents over one-hundred hospitality related companies spanning five counties in Northeast Florida.  Representing the interests and well being of over forty-thousand employees in Duval, Flagler, St. John's, Nassau, and Clay Counties, the North Florida Hotel Lodging Association (NFHLA) is diversified through all industries that support hospitality.

NFHLA is an association that is continuously advocating issues that impact the Lodging and Hospitality Industry and your participation is vital to our success. I invite you to become a member of NFHLA and gain access to the best industry related resources available.

In 2012, NFHLA will continue its progress towards creating additional value for its membership. By partnering closely with our Lodging & Allied Members, we have become a united and influential voice for the tourism industry in all five counties of the first coast region.

On behalf of NFHLA, I look forward to the opportunity of meeting you.

Best regards,

Paul Eckert
2012 NFHLA President

News Flash

NFHLA External Affairs:  News from FRLA: HB 1393 exempting Online Travel Companies from paying taxes for the retail value of the rooms they sell will impact your business. (They need to know that the OTCs will not stop selling our rooms even if they collect and remit the appropriate taxes…after all, many of us have different wholesale rates and still they sell our product, if the end user wants our rooms, they will still buy them from OTCs or us.)

HB 1393 will be heard WEDNESDAY, February 15, by the House Finance and Tax Committee.  The committee will convene at 8:00 a.m. in room 404 of the House Office Building.

Now is the time to voice your opinion.  Please contact Christina Jones (cjones@frla.org) if you are able to attend this committee meeting.  It is imperative that members let their voice be heard.
